The Grand Theatre enriches the Town of Indian Head in many ways. The Theatre is a historical legacy left to us by those who built the town of Indian Head contributing to the growth and development of Saskatchewan. This attractive historical building adds to the beautiful persona of the town.

The Grand Theatre is not only a historical venue but it is also provides opportunity to build a vibrant Arts presence in our community.

The board and various committees believe it is important to support our local community Theatre for many reasons.

Community Theatre nurtures new artists.

Many successful actors, playwrights, musicians, writers, dancers, stage crew, set designers etc. have launched their careers on the stages of a community theatre. By attending events audiences give budding artists the support needed to learn, grow and develop their talents.

As the Theatre’s programs grow the Grand hopes to offer classes for children’s productions. This is valuable for the growth of our community because the stage works to develop confidence, communication skills and responsibility within young performers.

Local theatre contributes to the learning and sharing of valuable skills within the Community.

Community theaters need more than just cast members. Anyone that can sew a costume, paint a backdrop, build a staircase, or edit a sound effect is a welcome addition. Novices of a particular skill, such as construction or lighting, can increase their ability by working alongside experts who can share and pass their knowledge on to the next generation.

Local live performances and movies offer the perfect opportunity for local businesses to advertise ‘locally’.

Business owners in Indian Head and area can benefit by advertising with the Grand Theatre. Theatre audiences are essentially captive while they spend their time browsing programs, watching ads on screen minutes before a show. This is a perfect opportunity to advertise and reach potential customers. Ad space in print programs, and on our web site is relatively inexpensive and will help the Theatre to grow and thrive. The Grand Theatre brings the community together socially.

No matter your role or contribution to a production or event, as star, stagehand or concession staff, one thing is certain; you will meet new friends. The Grand Theatre will bring people closer together. Many lifelong friendships and relationships have been formed those who band together to put on a play, event or volunteer for programs.
